Main purpose
To lead and manage the wraparound care provision in a way that reflects the nurturing, inclusive, and community-focused ethos of Graffham CE Infant School. The role supports the wellbeing, safety, and development of all children, providing a warm and engaging environment before and after school that complements their learning and personal growth.
Duties and responsibilities
* Lead in the day-to-day organisation of the Wrap Around Care provision, providing high standards of care and play opportunities for children between the ages of 4-11 years old.
* Maintain a safe, secure and stimulating play environment, and to assist with developing opportunities which encourage children’s social, physical, intellectual, creative and emotional development through play.
* Lead in the planning, preparing, and delivery of fun and engaging activities, which meet children’s individual wellbeing and developmental needs.
* Follow guidelines and procedures for safeguarding, in accordance with the school’s policy and procedures.
* Identify opportunities for improvement in service delivery and implementing and evaluating changes where required.
* Support all children by promoting positive strategies for unwanted behaviour, in line with the school’s Behaviour Management Policy.
* Ensure that wrap around care offers a high quality, inclusive environment which meets the needs of all children, regardless of social, culture, religion or beliefs.
* Report any safeguarding concerns to the school’s Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL), a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL) or the Headteacher, at the earliest opportunity.
Job Details
Salary: £14.13 - £14.82 per hour
Contract Type: Temporary, part time, term-time only
Working Pattern: Morning club (7.50am - 8.50am daily) and after school club (3.00pm - 5.15pm Monday to Thursday)

Essential Skills
* Understanding of child development and the importance of play
* Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and responsibilities
* Ability to create a safe, inclusive and nurturing environment
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Genuine enjoyment of working with children
* Warm, caring and approachable manner
* Strong commitment to understanding and meeting individual pupil needs
* Dedication to promoting children’s wellbeing, emotional development, and positive behaviour
* Commitment to safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion
* Reliable, well‑organised and proactive in managing responsibilities
Desirable Skills
* First Aid training (this can be arranged)
* Level 3 qualification in childcare, playwork, or equivalent
* Experience of working with children aged 4–11 in a play or care setting
* Planning activities to engage pupils and support development
* Awareness of wellbeing strategies for children
* Understanding of behaviour management techniques aligned with positive reinforcement
* A reflective practitioner who seeks continuous improvement
* Alignment with the Christian ethos and values of the school
