Job Title: Secondary Special Needs School Teacher

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of students with special needs? Are you an experienced and dedicated English Teacher looking for a rewarding opportunity? We are currently seeking an exceptional individual to join our team as a SEND Teacher at a reputable special needs school in Cambridge. This position has the potential to become permanent for the right candidate, offering a great opportunity to contribute to the academic and personal development of our students.
Our Cambridge site is at an exciting stage; we currently provide bespoke education for students aged 16-25 with Education, Health and Care Plans, and we plan to extend our provision to include Pre-16 students, expanding our age range from 11-25.
We teach in small groups with a dedicated and experienced teaching team, ensuring each student receives individual attention and care. We create personalized learning packages to support our students' needs.
We are looking for someone who has:
* A passion for supporting and empowering children and young people
* Ability to form positive working relationships
* A calm and rational approach when dealing with challenging situations
* Experience working with children and young people with additional needs, including behavioral challenges
* Patience and understanding for students with challenging behavior
* Confidence to deliver small group and 1-to-1 activities
* A team-oriented attitude
* Strong communication skills
* A genuine interest in helping children and young people reach their full potential
* Energetic and hardworking
* Flexibility and adaptability to change
* A positive outlook with a good sense of humor
Requirements include:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
* Proven experience in special needs education
* Knowledge of the UK national curriculum and SEN teaching methodologies
* Ability to differentiate and adapt teaching strategies
* Excellent interpersonal skills
* Patience, empathy, and passion for supporting students with SEN
* Strong organizational skills
* Enhanced DBS check or willingness to obtain one
