Key Responsibilities Develop and complete effective test automation frameworks and strategies to ensure the highest quality of our software systems. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to successfully implement and maintain automated test scripts. Apply and manage version control systems like Git, Github, and Gitlab to ensure smooth and efficient development processes. Conduct comprehensive testing using tools such as Eggplant Functional, SOAP UI, and Postman to determine software performance and reliability. Write and maintain System, API, and UI test scripts using frameworks like Karate. Strictly adhere to testing methodologies, tools, and techniques to maintain the highest standards of software quality. Monitor middleware systems and message queuing systems like Kafka, IBM MQ, and ACE to ensure seamless data flow and integration. Apply scripting languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript) and application monitoring tools like Control M to improve system performance and stability. Understand and implement software architecture technologies such as XBRL, HTML, VB, .NET, XML, Java, Web Services, SOA, SOAP, Unix/Linux, SAP, Oracle, SQL, and SharePoint. Analyse complex business processes and provide innovative solutions for seamless integration of various systems. Foster an inclusive and collaborative environment where diverse teams work together to achieve flawless results. Skills / Experience Demonstrable industry experience and extensive hands-on test automation experience. Proficiency in using testing tools such as Eggplant Functional, and API testing tools like SOAP UI and Postman. Experience with version control systems like Git, Github, and Gitlab. Expertise in at least one programming language: Java, C#, Python, or .Net. Proven ability to write System, API, and UI test scripts using frameworks such as Karate. Strong knowledge of testing methodologies, tools, and techniques. Familiarity with middleware systems/message queuing systems like Kafka, IBM MQ, and ACE. Competence in scripting languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript) and application monitoring tools like Control M. Understanding of software architecture technologies such as XBRL, HTML, VB, .NET, XML, Java, Web Services, SOA, SOAP, Unix/Linux, SAP, Oracle, SQL, and SharePoint. Outstanding analytical skills and confidence in learning complex business processes. Effective collaboration skills to work seamlessly with diverse teams. Education Desirable but not essential: Degree or equivalent experience in Information Technology, Computer Science, or other relevant fields. ISTQB / ISQI / ISEB Foundation level qualification. Salary and Benefits Information We encourage flexible working, part time working and job share arrangements. Part time salary and benefits will be on a pro-rated basis as appropriate. We offer a salary as follows: Leeds circa £36,400- £40,950 In addition, we also offer a comprehensive benefits package as detailed below: Currently a non-contributory, career average pension giving you a guaranteed retirement benefit of 1/80th of your annual salary for every year worked. There is the option to increase your pension (to 1/65th) or decrease (to 1/105th) in exchange for salary through our flexible benefits programme each year. The Bank has the discretion to vary standard accrual rates and dial up and dial down rates at any time and to withdraw dial up and dial down options at any time. A discretionary performance award based on a current award pool. An 8% benefits allowance with the option to take as salary or purchase a wide range of flexible benefits. 26 days’ annual leave with option to buy up to 12 additional days through flexible benefits. Private medical insurance and income protection. National Security Vetting Process Employment in this role will be subject to the National Security Vetting clearance process (and typically can take between 6 to 12 weeks post offer) and the passing of additional Bank security checks in accordance with the Bank policy.
