Due to the secure nature of the programme, you will need to hold UK Security Clearance or be eligible to go through this clearance. This role is five days a week working in the Leatherhead Office. Your future duties and responsibilities: In this role, you will design, build and test secure Java-based web services that interrogate and manipulate multiple data sources, delivering correlated information to front-end applications. You will work within a SAFe Agile framework, contributing to iterative delivery across structured sprints, taking ownership of your work while collaborating closely with other developers, testers and stakeholders in a fast-moving environment. You will be encouraged to think creatively, adapt to changing requirements, and continuously improve solution quality. With strong team support around you, you’ll help ensure reliable delivery across development and, where required, production support activities. Key responsibilities include: Design & Develop secure Java services and RESTful APIs Test & Assure through automated unit and integration testing Collaborate & Deliver within a SAFe Agile delivery model Adapt & Improve solutions in response to evolving requirements Support & Maintain systems across the delivery lifecycle Required qualifications to be successful in this role: You should be an experienced Java developer with a strong background in building and testing RESTful services, comfortable working in secure, delivery-focused environments. You will bring a pragmatic mindset, excellent communication skills, and the ability to adapt quickly while maintaining high engineering standards. Essential qualifications: Strong experience developing and automated testing of Java services Recent hands-on experience building RESTful APIs Excellent teamwork and communication skills Sole UK nationality with active SC Clearance (no unrestricted travel permits) Willingness to work full-time from CGI’s Leatherhead office (5 days per week) Desirable experience: Front-end development exposure (e.g. React with Jest) JUnit and integration testing tools such as ReadyAPI Git for source-code management REST APIs using OpenAPI and JSON SQL and PL/SQL scripting against Oracle databases CI/CD tooling such as GitLab Runner or Jenkins Nice to have: Selenium for front-end integration testing Understanding of SOAP services and Oracle SOA Experience supporting production environments and release activities LI-SB2 Skills: GIT GIT Java RESTful (Rest-APIs) What you can expect from us: Together, as owners, let’s turn meaningful insights into action.
