Team Leader / Senior Support Worker – Children’s Residential Services

Salary: £36,192 p/a (based on 48hrs per week) + £50 sleep-in allowance (average 10 per month)

About the role:
We are seeking Senior Support Workers / Team Leaders to join a new and growing provider of therapeutic residential care for children and young people.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a start-up organisation with clear progression routes and the chance to shape the culture and practice of the homes from the outset.
As a Team Leader, you will act as a role model for junior staff, provide guidance and support during challenging situations, and ensure a safe, nurturing environment where children can thrive and reach their potential.
Key responsibilities:
* Lead shifts and provide supervision, mentoring, and support to Support Workers
* Promote and maintain a safe, homely, and therapeutic environment in line with regulatory standards
* Actively contribute to care planning, key work sessions, and outcome tracking for children and young people
* Support children with daily routines, life skills, education, and leisure activities
* Manage challenging behaviours using positive behaviour support and therapeutic strategies
* Ensure accurate recording, documentation, and communication in line with policies and procedures
* Take part in the on-call rota and contribute to the wider development of the home
Requirements:
* At least 1 years’ experience in a residential childcare setting (essential)
* NVQ Level 3 in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) – or willingness to work towards
* Strong understanding of safeguarding, child protection, and supporting young people with complex needs
* Experience of leading a team, mentoring, or shift-leading (desirable)
* Ability to remain calm, resilient, and positive under pressure
* Full UK driving licence (preferred but not essential)
* Right to work in the UK
