Job Description
At Leeds Beckett we are committed to supporting all our students to succeed. We’re excited to be recruiting into our Student Progression Consultant role. The role is within our Careers and Employability Team (Beckett Careers) and contributes towards the successes of students from widening participation backgrounds. The position will work collaboratively in a job-share arrangement (2 days per week) and will provide operational leadership across two key aspects of our work. Firstly, in the development of a tailored employability offer that empowers students to overcome barriers and thrive in their graduate careers. Secondly, in ongoing evaluation and reporting of practice to ensure we continue to review and develop that offer, in line with our understanding of its impact and the commitments within LBU’s Access & Participation Plan.
A crucial part of what makes the role unique, and rewarding, is our student and alumni. To give context, over 95% are from state schools. Over 40% are the first in their family to attend Higher Education. 23% identify as part of the global majority. 19% self-declare a disability. It makes for a diverse student body – bringing breadth of perspectives and experiences to teaching and learning, and to future workplaces.
