Senior Data Scientist – St Neots (PE19)
Salary: £45,000 – £65,000 (DOE). Full‑time, on‑site at our head office in Little Paxton, St Neots.
This newly created role is part of the Digital Services Group, driving advanced data science capabilities across exciting customer projects.

Core Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of data science activities in support of the Test & Evaluation programme
- Define, scope and review tasking for Data Science team members
- Develop analytical, predictive and visualisation solutions using modern data science techniques
- Prototype and evaluate emerging AI and machine learning technologies
- Develop robust, high‑quality software applications and tools
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to colleagues
- Report progress and technical outputs to project stakeholders
- Support business development activities and technical bid responses
- Ensure data science processes and best practices are followed
Qualifications & Experience
- Senior data scientist experience required
- Strong analytical thinking and passion for solving complex problems
- Excellent communication of technical concepts to a variety of audiences
- Writing scripts to provide insights into complex system performance within high‑volume synthetic environments (Python or MATLAB)
- Experience with data transformation and visualisation frameworks
- Experience generating GUIs to display key data insights
- Development of product quality software applications
- BSc or MSc in a data‑related subject
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong background in statistics and data assimilation techniques
- Prototyping AI/ML techniques (e.g. LLMs and neuromorphic systems)
- Knowledge of electromagnetic spectrum systems such as radar, electronic warfare, or jamming technologies
- Interest in GPU‑accelerated architectures and high‑performance computing
- Experience using DevOps and software‑development tools such as Jira and BitBucket
Security & Eligibility
- UK National and eligible to work in the UK
- Eligible to obtain and maintain a UK Government SC level security clearance
