Highways Operative
Location: Sandford, BS25
Salary: £27,391£34,789 per year (DOE) + overtime opportunities
Contract: Permanent | Hours: 39 per week
A well-established environmental and highways services company in North Somerset is seeking an experienced Highways/Construction Operative to join their team. The role involves working as part of a small crew to carry out tasks including kerbing, tarmac patching, erecting/dismantling fencing and signage, and participating in the winter maintenance on-call team.
Key Responsibilities:
* Carry out assigned tasks safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
* Travel across North Somerset to perform tarmac work, gully repairs, white lining, and other duties.
* Operate a range of plant and equipment and maintain vehicles, plant, and tools.
* Conduct daily risk assessments, pre-site inspections, and vehicle checks.
* Install and maintain signage, lighting, and safety barriers.
* Flexible working including day and night shifts, emergency and winter standby.
* Opportunity to upskill through the in-house Driver Training Academy.
