Job Title: Junior Quantity Surveyor / Commercial Administrator
Location: Cardiff
Salary: Competitive (£30,000–£35,000 DOE) + Annual Bonus
About the Role:
We’re seeking an ambitious and versatile Junior Quantity Surveyor / Commercial Administrator to join our growing team in the Rail industry. This dynamic role blends technical expertise in quantity surveying with administrative support for commercial operations, offering a unique opportunity for career development and skill-building.
Key Responsibilities:
Quantity Surveying Duties:
* Assist in preparing cost estimates and budgets for rail projects, including Rope and Rail works.
* Conduct quantity take-offs and measurements from drawings and specifications.
* Support senior QS staff in managing contracts, ensuring compliance and resolving issues.
* Track and monitor project costs, ensuring financial accuracy and efficiency.
* Prepare reports on project performance and variations.
Commercial Administration Duties:
* Manage and maintain project documentation, contracts, and records.
* Assist with procurement activities, including liaising with suppliers and subcontractors.
* Coordinate invoice processing and payment schedules.
* Provide administrative support for commercial processes, ensuring smooth operations.
* Communicate with stakeholders, facilitating clear and timely updates.
Requirements:
* A degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field, or currently working towards one.
* Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
* Excellent numeracy and analytical abilities.
* Proficiency in construction software (e.g., CostX, AutoCAD) and Microsoft Office Suite.
* Previous experience in quantity surveying or commercial administration (preferable).
* A proactive attitude and ability to multitask effectively.
