Head of Public Sector Operations
Remote, with regular travel to client, supplier and business meetings across the UK
The Role Mission:
The Head of Public Sector Operations is responsible for driving commercial growth and operational excellence within Entegra’s public sector channel, with a strategic focus on the Crown Commercial Service (CCS) Buy Better Food and Drink Framework.
This role will blend business development and procurement delivery: expanding Entegra’s public sector presence, identifying new revenue opportunities within the framework, and maximising the commercial value of every client relationship. At the same time, it will ensure procurement compliance, supply chain resilience, and operational efficiency.
By leading, inspiring, and developing the public sector team, the role will ensure the delivery of measurable outcomes; growth, savings, sustainability, and client satisfaction aligned to both Entegra’s business objectives and the evolving priorities of the UK public sector.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead Entegra’s operational delivery of the CCS Buy Better Food and Drink Framework, ensuring full compliance with procurement regulations and client expectations.
* Monitor and report on framework performance, including savings, sustainability, and value-for-money metrics.
* Drive expansion of Entegra’s footprint through the CCS Buy Better Food and Drink Framework, securing new contracts and maximising participation.
* Identify and pursue new revenue opportunities across central and local government, education, and healthcare.
* Act as a trusted advisor to senior public sector stakeholders, building long-term strategic relationships.
* Represent Entegra at public sector and industry forums, influencing procurement discussions and policy developments.
* Lead and inspire the public sector operations team, setting a clear vision and performance expectations.
* Support team development through coaching, mentoring, and succession planning
The Successful Candidate Profile:
* Proven experience and a strong understanding of public sector procurement, ideally gained in a commercial operations or strategic account management role, with senior leadership experience directing teams across multiple functions.
* Strong track record of driving business development and revenue growth in complex, regulated environments i.e. education, local authority, NHS
* Deep understanding of Crown Commercial Service frameworks (particularly food and drink) and wider public sector procurement practices.
* Proven ability to manage complex, multi-stakeholder relationships at senior levels.
* Strong financial and commercial acumen, with the ability to balance growth and compliance.
* Excellent leadership skills: able to inspire, mentor, and develop high-performing teams.
* Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation abilities.
* Ability to travel and represent Entegra at external meetings, forums, and industry events
