Job Purpose Job Description Location : Hybrid working with 3 days per week in the Leeds office. Deadline to Apply : 1st March 2026. Salary : up to £52,500 depending on experience bonus Role Purpose: The Accountant supports the delivery of high quality, accurate and timely financial reporting by ensuring the integrity of the Bank’s ledgers and associated sub ledgers. The role plays a vital part in maintaining a strong internal control environment through effective reconciliation, process ownership, and continuous improvement of financial processes and systems. The postholder contributes to the month end and year end reporting cycles, maintains robust documentation to satisfy internal and external audit expectations, and collaborates with stakeholders to safeguard financial data integrity and enhance the effectiveness of the Fund. Core Role Accountabilities: Financial Accounting & Reporting Prepare, post and reconcile journals and ledgers to ensure accuracy and completeness of monthly financial results. Deliver month‑end tasks in line with agreed timelines to support timely reporting to internal and external stakeholders. Produce high‑quality monthly balance sheet reconciliations, investigate variances, and ensure timely resolution. Manage payroll postings and ensure payroll deductions are paid to HMRC and other bodies within required deadlines. Provide thorough supporting documentation for all transactions to meet audit, control, and compliance requirements. Produce year-end disclosures and financial statements for input into the annual accounts. Controls, Compliance & Assurance Ensure all financial controls are fully adhered to and properly evidenced. Identify anomalies or irregularities in financial data and proactively resolve issues. Support internal and external audits by providing accurate, complete and timely information. Maintain high standards of data quality across systems and processes. Process Improvement & Systems Develop, refine and implement processes to strengthen the control environment and improve reporting efficiency. Fully utilise Workday functionality to drive consistency, automation, and control improvements. Work with Finance Systems and other stakeholders to identify enhancements, resolve issues and influence future system requirements. Stakeholder Engagement Engage effectively with business stakeholders to gather required information, provide updates on financial deliverables, and influence adherence to timelines. Build collaborative relationships across the Finance function and the wider organisation. Operational Support Provide cross‑cover for Accounts Payable processes when required. Support Finance leadership on ad‑hoc analysis, enquiries or project work as needed. Knowledge, Skill & Experience Requirements: Knowledge: Accounting qualification required Knowledge of IFRS accounting requirements Experience: Experience maintaining data within a general ledger or financial system. Experience in IFRS, with a specific focus on financial services related standards. Experience in preparing year end accounting disclosures and financial statements.
