Job Description:
Handle Recruitment are representing a leading UK charity that are on the lookout for a driven and adaptable Senior Sports and Community Manager to join their team.
12 Month FTC
Hybrid - 3 days in office
Central London
Pay - £43,000 to £48,000
Role Overview:
To oversee the Sports and Community events team, developing and diversifying each department, maintaining a high standard of relationship fundraising, managing and setting team's yearly budgets with the Head of Public Fundraising.
Key responsibilities:
* Lead the Sports & Community fundraising strategy, overseeing delivery of the sports events portfolio and maximising ROI.
* Manage and grow relationships with high-value fundraisers, stakeholders, and supporters, ensuring a consistently high standard of relationship fundraising.
* Use audience insights, data analysis, and market trends to identify opportunities, implement improvements, and enhance supporter experience.
* Collaborate with other fundraising teams to deliver integrated campaigns and improve overall fundraising performance.
* Maintain accurate records and interrogate Salesforce to identify efficiencies, trends, and opportunities for growth.
* Support delivery of flagship activities such as the London Marathon fundraising programme.
* Direct and line manage the Sports & Community fundraising team, providing regular one-to-ones, performance reviews, and development plans.
* Recruit, induct, and train new team members while fostering a positive, collaborative, and innovative working culture.
* Encourage creativity, data-driven decision-making, and continuous improvement across the team.
* Work closely with the Head of Public Fundraising to shape and deliver departmental strategy.
Budget & Performance Management
* Accountable for departmental income exceeding £5m annually.
* Set, monitor, and manage expenditure budgets in line with income targets.
* Analyse monthly financial performance, provide commentary, and implement corrective action where needed.
* Track KPIs and objectives, reporting regularly and ensuring issues are addressed promptly.
Additional Responsibilities
* Deliver engaging presentations to a range of audiences as required.
* Represent the charity at events across the UK, including evenings and weekends, with time off in lieu provided.
* Undertake any other reasonable duties as directed by line management.

Essential Experience and Skills:
* Proven track record of increasing fundraising income and managing successful fundraising teams.
* Extensive experience setting and managing large, multi-million-pound budgets.
* Skilled in delivering mass participation and sports events.
* Strong public speaking, networking, and relationship-building abilities.
* Excellent project management skills with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks effectively.
* Proficient in Salesforce and the Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Outlook).
