This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a Trust that provides all aspects of forensic care and treatment, with a large peer group and opportunities to develop clinical, management and leadership skills in a variety of settings. There are opportunities to apply for funded sessions or use SPA time for leadership, medical education, research, QI and other linked activities. The Trust seeks to support your individual professional career and co-create the job of your dreams.
Main duties
This is a replacement post. In 2021, the Trust was successful with its bid to implement the Specialist Community Forensic Team (SCFT) model across North West and Central London. The service covers 8 North West London boroughs in three hubs (Brent, Harrow & Hillingdon; Ealing, Hammersmith & Hounslow; Kensington, Chelsea & Westminster). Working within this established and expanding team, there are many opportunities to be part of service development.
You will work within a dynamic and progressive SCFT team with a small but complex caseload of approximately 30 outpatients supported by a well-resourced multi-disciplinary team including social care and administrative support. You will provide in-reach to secure wards and follow up to 30 in-patients prior to discharge but you will not be the Responsible Clinician (RC) for these patients. You will offer clinical leadership to the team and act as Responsible Clinician / Clinical Supervisor for the service users in your caseload, who will also have a designated social supervisor and a Community Psychiatric Nurse (CPN).
In addition, you will offer community forensic expertise, advise and support to secure ward teams and service users preparing for discharge.
