About the role
As a Streetworks Technician, you will carry out inspections across the Buckinghamshire highway network to ensure works comply with legislation and permit conditions. You’ll work collaboratively with Area Inspectors, the Highways Hub and third parties to resolve issues and support safe, efficient traffic flow.
Key Responsibilities
1. Carry out streetworks inspections in accordance with legislation and permit requirements.
2. Identify and report defects, safety issues and non‑compliance.
3. Plan and coordinate inspection schedules, adapting to changing priorities.
4. Accurately record and process data using relevant systems.
5. Work closely with Area Inspectors, the Highways Hub, utility companies and other partners.
6. Provide clear, professional advice to colleagues and customers.
7. Support the response to incidents or emergencies if required.
8. Promote and follow health and safety requirements at all times.
About you
We’re seeking a confident, proactive, and experienced Streetworks Technician eager to apply their skills within our service and further develop their career in Highways. You’ll be a quick learner with a keen eye for detail, committed to improving the lives of Buckinghamshire residents by managing our road network, as well as overseeing utilities and contractors carrying out works.
You should have the ability to work collaboratively, have a background in the utilities/and or local government sector and be willing manage issues on the Highway network. As well as represent the service at our New Road & Street works Act requirements.
