Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced, motivated and values‑driven Deputy Head of Nursing to join Division A. This pivotal senior nursing leadership role supports the strategic and operational direction of the Division and the wider Trust, with a strong focus on quality, safety, patient experience, and workforce leadership across a diverse range of clinical services.
Working in close partnership with the Head of Nursing – Division A, Divisional Director, and the wider multidisciplinary leadership team, the post holder will play a key role in driving continuous improvement, ensuring safe and effective care, and embedding a strong culture of learning, compassion, and accountability.
The role reports directly to the Divisional Head of Nursing and has an individualised portfolio of clinical areas and staff, deputising for the Divisional Head of Nursing while leading on delegated projects within the division and assisting with shaping the Divisional nursing direction and strategy. The post holder will assist the Divisional Head of Nursing with the development and delivery of clinical services and professional standards and the development of nursing leadership within the Division.
Responsibilities
* Provide professional and managerial leadership for designated nursing teams and specialist nurses, ensuring a highly visible and authoritative presence and the provision of high quality, responsive services with the needs of the patient at the centre of care delivery.
* Work in partnership with the Divisional Senior Leadership Team to ensure effective and efficient management of delegated projects to meet agreed targets within the resources available.
* Work in partnership with the Divisional Senior Leadership Team to ensure effective divisional quality governance systems and processes.
