We are currently recruiting on behalf of a Local Authority in Essex for an experienced Housing Officer to join their Housing Management team on a temporary basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a housing professional with strong tenancy management experience to work within a busy and supportive local authority environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Managing a patch of residential properties across the borough
* Delivering effective general tenancy management services
* Handling tenancy breaches including ASB, nuisance, and low-level enforcement
* Conducting tenancy audits, property visits, and estate inspections
* Supporting tenants to sustain tenancies and access relevant services
* Managing rent arrears cases and liaising with internal departments
* Responding to resident enquiries and resolving housing-related issues
* Maintaining accurate case records and ensuring compliance with housing policies
Requirements
* Previous experience working as a Housing Officer within a Local Authority or Social Housing setting
* Strong knowledge of tenancy management and housing legislation
* Experience managing ASB and tenancy-related casework
* Excellent communication and customer service skills
* Ability to manage a varied caseload independently
* Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential
