Strengthening our Health, Safety & Sustainability function is a key part of that journey — and that’s where this role comes in. We’re looking for an experienced HSE Manager to join our Clonshaugh site, supporting a large, complex and fast-moving operation. This is a highly visible role with genuine influence, working in close partnership with the Site General Manager and senior operational managers. The opportunity This role is about leadership, influence and presence on site. You’ll be the trusted Health & Safety lead for the operation — visible, credible and hands-on — shaping how safety is understood, led and embedded day to day. You’ll spend time in the operation, coaching and influencing managers and colleagues to ensure every colleague can go home safe and well. You’ll focus on what really matters: Partnering with site leadership to drive strong, consistent health and safety performance Translating the wider health and safety strategy into practical, site-specific improvements Spending time in the operation; coaching and influencing managers and colleagues to strengthen safety culture Using data, insight and observation to identify risk, trends and improvement opportunities Leading and supporting incident investigations to ensure meaningful learning and sustainable actions Acting as the site’s main point of contact for regulators, audits and colleague consultation working with our Trade Union partners You’ll also contribute beyond the site by working collaboratively with the wider Health & Safety team, supporting audits and providing support during significant incidents when required. About you You’re a confident, pragmatic health and safety professional who is comfortable operating in fast-paced, high-risk environments. You’ll bring: Proven experience in a site-based health and safety leadership role NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent Irish qualification, e.g. QQI Level 6/7 in Occupational Health & Safety) Membership of IOSH or another relevant professional body Strong influencing and communication skills, with the confidence to challenge constructively Experience leading incident investigations and driving sustainable change The ability to prioritise effectively and work with minimal supervision Flexibility to support a 24/7 operation and peak periods Desirable: Experience within logistics, distribution or a similar operational environment Experience working with trade unions or consultation forums Chartered IOSH status (or working towards) Why Gist?
