Preston Lodge High School is a non-denominational secondary school serving the communities of Cockenzie, Port Seton, Longniddry, Blindwells, and Prestonpans. Our roll is currently 1060, and the school is easily accessible from Edinburgh. Our strengths include:
* The high morale, sense of belonging, and positive ethos of the school community
* The nurturing, inclusive work environment supporting young people's learning and wellbeing
* The strong, positive relationships between staff and students
Our motivated staff, students, parents, carers, and community have worked hard to improve all aspects of our school. Following a recent inspection, we are actively working on improvement areas and making great progress. Our support for learners was positively highlighted in the inspection report, and improvements are underway.
We are a happy school, with a positive culture and ethos reported by new staff. In a time of educational uncertainty, we collaborate to provide the best education for all students.
Our focus is on improving classroom practice, developing student and staff learning, enhancing our curriculum, and closing the achievement gap with a focus on equity.
The Support for Learning team works closely with subject staff, Guidance, and Inclusion teams. The successful candidate will lead our Enhanced Learning Provision, Nurture provision, ASN Auxiliaries, and SQA Assessment Arrangements. It is a demanding but rewarding role, with significant support available. We believe the right candidate will thrive in this position.
Further information about our Support for Learning team is available upon request from School Business Manager, Helen Findlay, at hfindlay@prestonlodge.elcschool.org.uk.
This is an exciting time for Preston Lodge High School and our community. More information can be found at https://sites.google.com/edubuzz.org/prestonlodgenet, including our weekly PLus newsletter.
