Claims Handler Maidstone, Hybrid | Up to £37,000 | Permanent We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Claims Handler to join a highly regarded insurance team in Maidstone. This role offers the chance to work across a broad portfolio of corporate and commercial claims, giving you responsibility for managing cases from first notification through to settlement. As a key member of the team, you’ll combine strong technical knowledge with excellent client service skills, ensuring claims are handled efficiently, fairly, and with the best possible outcomes for clients. This is a great opportunity for someone who thrives on taking ownership of their work, enjoys building client relationships, and is confident in navigating complex claim What you’ll be doing Managing a varied caseload of corporate and commercial claims from start to finish, ensuring timely resolution. Acting as a point of contact for clients, insurers, and brokers, maintaining excellent relationships throughout the claims process. Negotiating with insurers to achieve fair settlements and the best possible outcomes for clients. Conducting investigations and, where appropriate, on-site visits to assess losses and gather information. Analysing claims data to spot trends and support improvements in claims handling processes. Staying up to date with industry changes, regulations, and emerging best practices. What we’re looking for Proven experience in commercial claims handling within a broker or insurer environment. Strong technical knowledge of insurance policies, coverage, and claims procedures. Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently, prioritise effectively, and remain calm under pressure. Customer-focused with the confidence to support clients in often challenging situations. CII or CILA qualifications (or working towards) would be an advantage.
