Buckinghamshire NHS Trust Neonatal Services are a level 2 service consisting of Neonatal Intensive Care, Special Care, Transitional Care and Home Outreach support
Main duties of the job
The Operational Matron will provide visible, professional leadership across the service, leading teams to deliver high-quality, safe and effective family-centred care, promoting patient flow, and supporting the workforce to foster a positive, inclusive and compassionate culture.

Person specification
Education Qualifications and Training
Essential criteria
11. 1st Level Registered Nurse or Registered Midwife
12. Post registration Qualification in Neonatology
13. Educated to First level degree (level 6 or above)
14. Current NLS certification
15. Safeguarding Children training (Level 1-3)
16. Evidence of continuing professional development
17. Leadership or management training
18. Post registration qualification in mentoring and supporting students
Experience
Essential criteria
19. Significant post registration neonatal experience
20. Human factors/route cause analysis training or experience of/willing to undertake
21. Experience of managing change
Desirable criteria
22. Risk management experience
Skills Abilities and Knowledge

24. Working knowledge of the incident process

26. Complaints management

PPE requirements: Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust requires all colleagues to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) in accordance with our infection prevention and control procedures.
