Job Description:
As a Consultant Ecologist at RSK Ireland, you will be involved in delivering field surveys, assessments, tender and report writing, and project management across various projects in Ireland.
Locations: Belfast, Dublin, or Cork Offices with hybrid working arrangements.
Key Responsibilities
* Managing small projects under supervision and assisting senior colleagues.
* Collaborating with ecologists regionally to ensure quality and timely project delivery.
* Performing fieldwork, including out-of-hours surveys and travel.
* Applying knowledge of ecology, legislation, and survey techniques, including protected species surveys.
* Undertaking ecological impact assessments and protected species surveys.
* Communicating effectively within the team and mentoring junior members.
* Maintaining professional integrity and exercising sound judgment.
* Managing time proactively to meet standards and deadlines.
* Conducting data analysis and liaising with biological records organizations.
* Researching and updating industry guidelines and science.
* Preparing high-quality reports for review.
Experience and Qualifications:
* At least 2 years of relevant experience or similar previous roles.
* Full UK/Irish driving license and access to a vehicle.
* Membership of or working towards membership of CIEEM.
* Excellent report writing skills.
* Experience as an Ecological Clerk of Works and developing biodiversity enhancement plans.
* Experience with personal species-specific licenses (e.g., bats, newts, badgers).
