Teaching Enhancement Quality Assurance LeadDepartment: AcademicLocation: Manchester (Abarna Campus)Position Type: Permanent, Full-TimeWorking Hours: 37.5 hours per weekWorking Pattern: Monday to Friday (with occasional weekend workingReports To: Dean of UKMCTravel Required: Yes – travel to other campuses within the UKMC GroupAbout UKMCUK Management College (UKMC) is a growing higher educationprovider delivering career-focused programmes aligned with industry andprofessional standards. We work closely with academic staff and partners toensure high-quality, relevant, and supportive learning experiences forstudents. Job Purpose To provide strategic leadership in teaching quality,academic standards, and quality assurance across the College. The role ensuresexcellence in classroom practice, drives continuous improvement in teaching andlearning, and maintains full compliance with regulatory and institutionalrequirements.Key Responsibilities· Teaching Quality & Academic Standards· Provide strategic leadership for teachingenhancement and quality assurance across all campuses.· Ensure academic delivery, session reporting, andclassroom practice consistently meet institutional, partner, and regulatorystandards.· Drive continuous improvement in teachingquality, student engagement, and academic outcomes.Observation & Feedback· Lead and manage a structured classroomobservation framework across campuses.· Conduct developmental observations in line withagreed schedules and compliance requirements· Deliver detailed, constructive feedback tolecturers, supporting measurable improvement in teaching practice. Mentoring & Academic Development· Design, implement, and oversee a structuredmentoring and coaching programme.· Support professional development, teachingexcellence, and Advance HE fellowship progression.· Identify development needs and contribute totargeted academic capability building. Quality Assurance & Compliance· Oversee quality assurance processes related tosession reports, assessments, and teaching documentation.· Ensure alignment with curriculum standards,academic integrity, and regulatory requirements (e.g. OfS, awarding bodies).· Provide expert guidance on safeguarding, dataprotection, and academic compliance. Data, Insight & Continuous Improvement· Analyse student feedback, retention,progression, and achievement data.· Evaluate the effectiveness of teaching practicesand quality initiatives.· Implement data-driven strategies to improveacademic performance and student experience. Collaboration & Leadership· Work closely with the Dean and academicleadership teams to support strategic objectives.· Deliver structured CPD programmes to enhanceteaching capability across departments.· Lead and influence academic teams, fostering aculture of excellence and continuous improvement. Representation & ExternalEngagement· Represent the College in internal and externalquality reviews and audits. · Contribute to institutional planning andcontinuous improvement initiatives. · Ensure academic provision meets and exceedspartner and regulatory expectations. Person SpecificationQualifications· PHD in Higher Education,Recognised teaching qualificationappropriate to UK Higher Education. · Fellowship of Advance HE· Significant experience within UK HigherEducation (Associate Professor or Professor level).· Evidence of continuous professional developmentin teaching, learning and academic leadership. · Formal training in mentoring, coaching, oreducational leadership (desirable). Experience & Knowledge· Proven experience teaching in UK HigherEducation with strong student outcomes. · Experience conducting classroom observations anddelivering developmental feedback. · Strong knowledge of UK HE regulatory frameworks(OfS, QAA, awarding bodies).· Experience leading mentoring, coaching, or CPDinitiatives.· Ability to analyse student data and implementimprovement strategies. Skills & Attributes· Strong leadership and stakeholder managementskills. · Excellent communication and ability to provideconstructive feedback. · High attention to detail and commitment toacademic quality and compliance. Strong organisational and time managementskills. · Commitment to safeguarding, inclusivity, andprofessional integrity. · Flexibility to travel across campuses andsupport occasional evening/weekend activities.Applicants must have the right to work in the UK.
