Healthcare Assistant /Phlebotomist (Adult Outpatient Department)

Hours 37.5 hours per week (1 Year Fixed Term Contract)
Paying from £30, 960 - £32,510 per annum dependent on experience
Role Overview:
As a Healthcare Assistant you will contribute to the delivery of holistic care needs to the patients and family, providing support within the team in ensuring a high standard of nursing care. You will provide support to the team and work under the Leadership of the registered nurses.
What you'll do:
1. Provide high quality physical and psychological Care with Compassion

4. Participate in the delivery of a consistent, safe service in all aspects of the patient journey, from greeting and orientating through to discharge, whilst demonstrating a culture of customer service.
5. Provide holistic nursing care interventions as directed, ensuring patients optimum care needs are met, including hygiene, elimination, and mobility, and assisting patients with eating and drinking when required.
6. Undertake clinical duties in any area that is reasonably requested ensuring that you practice within your achieved competencies and abilities reporting any changes or concerns to the nurse in charge.
7. Assist with collection and transportation of specimens.
8. Maintain up to date care records and observations charts.
9. Refer patients, relatives, and colleagues’ queries to the appropriate staff.
10. Enter requests on the computer and assist the receptionist and nursing staff with any other clerical duties when required.
11. Attend relevant team meetings and case reviews.
12. Adopt a flexible approach to the day to day running of the department and the rota.
13. Have a working knowledge of emergency policies including cardiac arrest and fire.
14. Work within other areas of the hospital as required.
What you’ll bring:
15. Experience working as a Healthcare Assistant on a ward or outpatient setting (essential)
16. NVQ in health and social care or Care Certificate
17. Basic Life Support Trained
18. Have a desire to develop both professionally and personally
19. NVQ Level 2 (Direct Patient Care) or equivalent
20. Competent in written and oral English
21. Competent with Venepuncture and Phlebotomy
