The Finance Platform is a team of c1000 colleagues within the wider Finance Division (c2,600) with responsibility for the core platforms, processes, financial reporting, controls, and transformation for Finance. It also supports Finance through provision of Divisional responsibilities, People & Culture initiatives, Systems & Data capabilities, and Strategy development.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated individual to join the Accounting and Statutory Reporting - Insurance Reporting feature team. The core purpose of the feature team is to support IP&I Finance in developing, enhancing and maintaining a robust, efficient and effectively controlled financial & regulatory reporting environment. To achieve this the team requires to rapidly develop a thorough understanding of the end to end data journey, processes and controls, from source system to reporting outputs. The candidate will be responsible for a range of challenging initiatives to ensure that we deliver customer value through excellence and execution.
The journey to new ways of working across the entirety of LBG has commenced through the Platform 2.0 transition programme. In the immediate future all change will be delivered using Agile practices and principles. Additionally, the Accounting & Statutory Reporting Lab is a dynamic lab with agile ways of working already at the heart of everything we do. As such it is essential to the role that the candidate has either Agile experience or brings with them the ability and desire to learn and adapt at pace.
This role is based in our Bristol hub. As we work in a hybrid way with 2 days per week from the office and from home the rest of the time, we encourage applications from any colleagues if they are prepared to travel.

What you'll need:
Essential:
* Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to collect, organise, analyse, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
* Experienced in financial reporting processes and controls, preferably with an insurance background and of IP&I systems.
* Ability to identify underlying business processes critical to e2e reporting data journey and to challenge existing practices to ensure that the processes adequately address the any defined business problem.
* A strong communicator, capable of delivering clear messages to a variety of partners and teams providing clear understanding for colleagues, both verbally and in writing.
* A multifaceted and adaptable self-starter who will, with exposure to financial and operational control frameworks and practices, help to identify meaningful information and challenge the business to understand outcomes that are required to realise the customer and business propositions.
Desirable:
* A flexible approach and a desire to learn and develop themselves both technically and in ways of working.
* A well-developed analysis & communication kit bag.
* A natural facilitator, negotiator and decision-maker, collaborating across all teams within the Lab.
* Ability to influence positively - demonstrating similar values and behaviours to our Group's and encouraging this in team members and across the analysis community.
* Proven track record in effectively delivering independently.
* Experience in business process mapping.
* Risk & Controls experience.
* Proficiency in using Confluence.
