Department An important part of the Customer Experience team (which sits in Directorate of Facilities Management and Campus Services) the reception team provides services and facilities to staff, students and visitors. The team provides a friendly and welcoming reception service. About the Role As a University Receptionist, on a daily basis, you will be the first point of contact for students, staff and visitors. You will provide support, advice and redirect queries where relevant. The post holder will be required to be flexible according to the needs and resources of the University and may be requested to undertake other duties as appropriate to the grade of post. A flexible, adaptable approach to work is necessary; you will be expected to work across our two reception points and there will also be a requirement to work in other locations to help support University events. This post covers 7 days a week. Shifts are managed on a roster basis and will be a combination of early and late shifts between 07:00 - 23:00, averaging 37 hours a week. Skills, Experience & Qualification needed Details of the main qualifications, knowledge, skills, experience and qualifications essential to the post (as stated in the ‘person specification’ in the job template) Ability to undertake manual handling duties for the movement of furniture, equipment and mail Level 2 qualification (Qualifications at this level include five GCSEs at grade AC/ grade 4-9.
