About the role
You’ll lead frontline regulatory actions to prevent harm from pollution and waste. You’ll play a key role in delivering education, compliance monitoring, and enforcement activities that protect the environment and public health across the Northern/Eastern Melbourne suburbs.
Responsibilities
* Plan and deliver regulatory activities aligned with EPA’s strategic priorities.
* Respond to environmental and public health incidents.
* Support investigations and compliance programs, including preventative projects.
* Provide guidance to team members and contribute to resolving compliance issues.
* Engage with communities and stakeholders to promote awareness of environmental laws and EPA’s role.
Skills and experience
* Proven experience in a senior operational setting, ideally within regulatory or environmental compliance.
* Demonstrated ability to manage complex enforcement matters and lead high-impact projects.
* Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to mentor others and manage conflict effectively.
* Excellent communication, organisational, and teamwork skills.
* Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes under pressure.
* Relevant tertiary qualification and/or substantial industry experience is desirable.
