Reporting to the Environmental and Sustainability Manager, the Environmental and Sustainability Specialist (Senior Environmental Advisor) will play a key role in implementing Telent's Sustainability Strategy and supporting Business Units to meet waste and carbon reduction objectives, customer expectations, ISO14001, and legal requirements across Rail and Asset Management divisions. This role involves up to 50% UK-wide travel and is hybrid.
What you’ll do:
* Provide specialist guidance to EHS teams and project leads on environment and sustainability to meet regulatory and customer requirements.
* Support risk management by defining environmental assurance regimes, including audit programs, through inspections and audits.
* Assist in preparing sustainability and carbon reduction plans for contracts and bids.
* Develop and maintain performance data and generate carbon management reports for various stakeholders.
* Ensure regular reviews of environmental aspects and impacts, including climate change risks, are conducted.
* Support project teams to embed sustainable and carbon reduction practices throughout project lifecycles.
Who you are:
You should have experience in a similar Environmental & Sustainability role within relevant industries such as Rail, Telecoms, Utilities, or Construction.
Key Requirements:
* Minimum Qualification - PIEMA
* ISO14001:2015 Lead Auditor
* Experience providing technical sustainability and environmental advice for business operations
* Proven track record of reducing environmental impacts of equipment and infrastructure across product lifecycles
* Experience managing complex technical and change projects
* Full driving license and flexibility for UK-wide travel
