We are looking for a Commercial Services Manager to support the team that oversees commercial governance of contracts with key consultancies and contractors. The role will deliver value for money, maximise return on budgets and embed best practice through Pathfinder programmes that build long‑term collaborative partnership arrangements.
As part of the Commercial and Framework Management (CAFM) team, you will provide country‑wide support to Integrated Delivery Management teams and the wider Project Management community, championing effective governance and commercial assurance across the Environment Agency.
Responsibilities
 * Support the commercial governance of agency contracts with consultancies and contractors.
 * Set up and manage Pathfinder programmes to embed best practice and develop long‑term partnership arrangements.
 * Provide country‑wide commercial assurance and framework management support to delivery hub teams.
 * Champion effective governance and commercial assurance to achieve best value for money.
 * Attend incident response duties and support communities when required.
Qualifications
 * A‑Level or Level 3 qualification or equivalent.
 * Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence.
 * Experience managing stakeholder relationships.
 * Strong data and document management skills.
 * Commercial acumen – ability to analyse business situations, take proportionate risks and deliver value.
 * Organisational and administrative skills – ability to write minutes and draft reports.
 * Willingness to pursue long‑term professional qualifications such as NEC, CIPS.
 * Interest in infrastructure, construction or environmental programmes.
Desired Qualifications
 * Degree or equivalent professional qualification or experience.
 * Progressing to a recognised professional body such as ICE, CIWEM, APM, CIPS or RICS.
 * Formal training in contract management (e.g. NEC, Contract Management Capability Programme).
