We are currently seeking a Graduate Geo-Environmental Engineer to work on new and existing projects in southern England, mainly comprising Phase 1 and Phase 2 Site Investigations. The position is based within the Geo-Environmental Consultancy Department.
Role and Responsibilities
1. Assist with the planning, execution and reporting of Phase 1 and Phase 2 Geo-Environmental and Geotechnical site investigations
2. Logging soil and rock samples
3. Scheduling laboratory testing
4. Assist with site monitoring — groundwater, surface water and ground-gas
5. Conduct soil and groundwater risk assessments
You will have the opportunity to work on a range of different projects mostly comprising redevelopment of brownfield sites. You will have the opportunity to become a key member of the team, working with our experienced staff on some exciting projects.
Experience and Skills Required
6. Relevant degree in Geology, Environmental Science - postgraduate degree desirable
7. Excellent communication and report writing skills
8. Willingness to research and keep up to date with current contamination topics & legislation
9. Ideally knowledge of asbestos regulations and associated testing and risk assessment
10. Geotechnical knowledge, logging soils and rocks etc.
11. Full driving licence
