We have an interesting opporutnity for a Learning Resource Centre (LRC) Facilitator, here at Barking and Dagenham College. You will join us on a part-time (18 hpw), fixed-term basis to 1st April 2026, and in return, we will offer a competitive salary of £13,077 to £14,470 The LRC Facilitator role: The LRC Facilitator will be responsible to the Learning Facilitator Coordinator for the effective and efficient running of the Learning Resources Centre and Workspace. Supporting learners to become independent and confident users of the range of learning resources in the college, you will develop a diverse range of study and research skills information to help learners to underpin their coursework. You will prepare and deliver information and study skills programmes in line with curriculum needs. To take responsibility for liaison with a number of curriculum areas. To contribute to the development and evaluation of the Learning Facilitator Service, Learning Resources Centre and Student Digital Zone Key Responsibilities of our LRC Facilitator: Assist learners and users of the LRC & Workspace in the accessing and use of the IT equipment, internet, public library resources, online databases and other resources Catalogue and classify library and other central College learning resources stock. Assist in informing learners, staff and public about the opportunities provided by the service and provide materials accordingly. Participate in the counter duties of the LRC & Workspace including booking computers, enrolling users, issuing and discharging materials. Our ideal LRC Facilitator should have the following qualifications, skills and experience: Educated to Level 2. Knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Microsoft Publisher. Knowledge of online learning platforms, online file storage, Windows based systems and databases would be an advantage. Experience of working with people in a customer service capacity. Ability to communicate with students, visitors, staff, management and members of the public face to face, by email and by telephone. Good written communication skills.
