Hays are working with a leading manufacturingpany based in Lichfield who are looking for an experienced Payables Manager to join their busy finance team.
Your new role
1. Lead, coach and develop your Payables Team, setting SMART objectives and goals
2. Handle month-end and year-end procedures and support with annual audit
3. Ensure the smooth running of the purchase ledger department by coordinating tasks within your team, and being hands-on with purchase invoices, resolving invoice and payment queries and coding
4. Develop and drive process improvements in our new purchase to pay system and across the department
5. Ensure payments are made correctly in multiple currencies
6. Reconcile account balances and bank accounts
7. Manage a variety of payment requests and queries
8. Processpany expenses and credit cards
9. Provide management reporting
10. Cover for payroll if you have previous experience
What you'll need to succeed
11. A minimum of 3 years purchase ledger, cash book and team management experience
12. Knowledge Sage 50, QuickBooks and ERP and working with automated finance systems would be advantageous
13. Payroll experience is desirable although not essential
14. GCSE Maths and English Grade A*- C
15. Accurate with excellent attention to detail
16. Able to interpret information and identify anomalies
17. Fast and accurate high volume processing skills
18. Numerate and analytical
19. Excellentmunication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and develop
20. Productive working relationships
21. Good all-round administration ability
22. Self-motivated with an analytical approach to work
23. Well-planned and highly organised with excellent time management
24. Able to prioritise workload, multitask and work to deadlines
25. Can make decisions within a defined framework
