About the role
Reporting to: Lead Category Manager
Based in: Watford, Equity, or Eccles
Job Summary: Maximise the profitability of specified product categories, improve customer satisfaction, and increase cash profit.
We are recruiting for a Category Manager in the Impulse/Confectionery team, based at either our Watford, Equity, or Eccles offices.
You will be responsible for
* The development and implementation of category plans to meet sales, margin, and profit targets while maintaining product availability.
* Growing our own brand business by sourcing products to increase sales and margins.
* Negotiating annually with suppliers to secure competitive terms.
* Gathering and reacting to customer feedback to shape category plans, aligning with sell plans and customer satisfaction goals.
* Responding professionally and promptly to customer queries and complaints.
* Communicating category plans and objectives effectively to ensure understanding and buy-in.
* Ensuring product categories reflect principles of good, better, and best offerings.
* Collaborating with the senior team to identify opportunities and improve ways of working.
* Leading the category team, managing performance, and supporting succession planning, aligned with Booker’s values of 'Making Everyone Welcome' and 'A Place to Get On.'
* Adhering to our Business Code of Conduct, acting with integrity, championing diversity and inclusion.

Experience relevant for this job:
* Extensive experience in FMG and leading a buying team.
