Role: Centre Administrator / Receptionist
Location: The Corby Sixth Form
Salary/Benefits: Salary is between £23,557 and £26,754 per annum (Pro-Rata) DOE and Qualifications, People’s Pension, Retail and Leisure Discounts, excellent professional and personal development opportunities, accessing college courses.
Hours/Weeks: 37 hours per week – 40 weeks per year
Contract Type: Permanent – Term Time

About the role:
We are currently seeking a Centre Administrator / Receptionist to join our Central Administration department at The Bedford College Group.
As a Centre Administrator / Receptionist, you play an important role in the success of our students through:
1. Administrative & Customer Service Support – Provide professional administrative support to the Sixth Form, delivering excellent customer service and acting as a welcoming first point of contact for students, staff and visitors.
2. Reception & Front‑of‑House Duties– Manage enquiries in person and via telephone, issue ID cards and maintain a professional reception environment that reflects the College’s standards.
3. Business Administration & Document Production – Support senior staff by producing high‑quality documents including reports, agendas, minutes, correspondence and purchase requisitions.
4. Student Data, Exams & Systems Support – Maintain accurate student records using college systems, assist with exam processes (registrations, certificates, invigilation) and support data management activities.
5. Operational Support & Compliance – Coordinate trips, manage post and resources, and uphold safeguarding, EDI, health & safety and CPD requirements while supporting wider administrative functions.
About you:
6. Qualifications, IT & Administrative Skills – Good general education with GCSE English and maths (or equivalent), supported by Level 2 IT qualification and strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
7. Administration, Systems & Data Accuracy – Experience in office and customer‑focused environments, using manual and computerised systems to record, track and retrieve data accurately and produce high‑quality reports.
8. Communication, Customer Service & Teamwork – Confident communicator across all channels, able to provide accurate information, deliver excellent customer service and contribute positively within a diverse team environment.
9. Organisation, Attention to Detail & Performance – Highly organised with strong proofreading skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage varied workloads, meet deadlines and maintain consistently high performance.
10. Professional Values, Safeguarding & Flexibility – Reliable, professional and adaptable, committed to safeguarding, equality and College values, with flexibility to support events, work across sites and continuously develop skills and knowledge.
