Overview
Arboricultural Consultant - Midlands role at Bartlett Tree Experts. The successful candidate will be based at the office in Draycott, Derbyshire (hybrid working is possible), operate as a member of the consultancy team, manage their own clients and projects, provide internal consultant advice and services, and work within the Midlands (Draycott, Derbyshire) area of operation as the company expands its client networks.
Bartlett Consulting is the consultancy arm of The F.A. Bartlett Tree Expert Company Ltd operating throughout the United Kingdom, Ireland, America and Canada, supported by the Bartlett Tree Research Laboratory in Reading, England and Charlotte, North Carolina.
Responsibilities
* Provide or work towards delivering the full range of services including trees and development, trees and subsidence, tree surveying and inventories, and tree risk assessment.
* Manage own client base and area of operation while working as part of the consultancy team.
* Offer internal consultant advice and services to clients and colleagues.
* Collaborate with planners, architects, engineers and contractors to provide holistic tree and landscape advice.
* Communicate effectively with other professionals internally and externally and support a team of professionals.
* Develop new business, manage existing client networks, and oversee commercial projects from start to finish with commercial awareness.
* Meet and exceed financial targets where applicable.
* Demonstrate a sound knowledge of the planning system, related legislation and policy, and robust understanding of health and safety guidance for trees and tree management.
* Apply knowledge of tree and fungal identification; use tomography and/or resistance micro-drill for advanced tree assessments where appropriate; maintain working knowledge of ancient and veteran trees.
* Possess a relevant degree or master’s qualification (ecological/environmental) and supplementary professional membership(s) and vocational training certification.
* Show excellent IT skills and attention to detail; experience with AutoCAD is desirable.
* Hold a full driving license.
Qualifications
* Previous experience delivering a consultancy service within a commercial environment.
* Ability to produce high-standard technical reports and work with planners, architects, engineers and contractors.
* Experience working with planners, architects, engineers and contractors.
* Ability to work within a team providing holistic tree and landscape advice and to communicate with professionals internally and externally.
* Commercial awareness to generate new business and manage client and project financials from start to finish.
* Thorough knowledge of the planning system, associated legislation and policy; robust understanding of health and safety legislation and guidance for trees and tree management.
* A working knowledge of ancient and veteran trees and a sound understanding of tree and fungal identification.
* Experience with Advanced Tree Assessment methods (tomography and/or resistance micro-drilling) where applicable.
* Relevant degree or masters qualification in ecological/environmental field; supplementary professional membership(s) and vocational training.
* Excellent IT skills and attention to detail (essential); AutoCAD experience is desirable.
