Overview

As part of this team, responsibilities include undertaking assessments of individuals experiencing a First Episode of Psychosis, working with their families and other supporting agencies to address needs using the National Mental Health Framework and managing an assigned community caseload. The role delivers bespoke and timely interventions to service users aged 14–65 years and their families in line with the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence Quality Standards for Early Intervention in Psychosis (EIP). EIP Suffolk offers regular clinical and management supervision, emphasising reflective practice in 1:1 and group sessions, with a commitment to team and individual development. A full EIP induction program and extensive training and career development are available across the Trust. This role acts as Lead Professional to an assigned community caseload and focuses on developing collaborative care and support plans with service users and their families.


Responsibilities

* Develop and review care and support plans with the treating team on a regular basis, including patient voice through routine outcome measures for both EIP and the Trust.
* Work with colleagues to ensure treatment and support interventions are delivered in a timely fashion to service users and their families/carers.
* Maintain National 2-week access and waiting time standards; engage with the service duty system rota as assigned.
* Complete complex assessments including risk assessment and management plans.
* Engage with psychologically focused formulation (5 P’s) and plan/deliver Brief Psychological Interventions as part of a structured therapy program.
* Participate in all team and service clinical meetings (weekly MDT, team formulation, morning huddles).
* Engage with supervision forums (monthly managerial supervision, monthly clinical supervision groups, monthly team reflective practice).
* Contribute to EIP Suffolk service developments, quality improvement projects and evaluation, and engage with available research projects across EIP Suffolk, the Trust or National EIP community.


Qualifications

* Compassionate, dedicated and motivated Nurse, Social Worker or Occupational Therapist with current professional registration.
* Ability to work within a forward-thinking team and autonomously.
* Full-time opportunity at Band 6 AfC Mental Health Practitioner; prior experience with psychosis in a community setting is advantageous but not essential.
* Interest in Early Intervention in Psychosis and a warm, compassionate, needs-led approach to working with service users and families. The role involves multi-agency work with family, local acute care services, primary care, social care, education, employment and voluntary services.
