This is a Fixed Term/Secondment vacancy until 30/09/2027 to cover secondment. If you are a Hywel Dda University Health Board employee and are applying for this post as a secondment, agreement for the secondment is needed from your current manager prior to application.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and enthusiastic registered nurse/ODP to join the team within the Endoscopy Unit at Prince Philip Hospital. The successful individual will work within a team assisting to deliver the highest standards of pre, peri and post-procedure care to patients undergoing a variety of Endoscopy procedures.
This busy unit can work over six days a week, offering a service to both out-patients and in-patients offering diagnostic and therapeutic procedures for adults. Endoscopy provides training and support to gain knowledge and skills in gastroenterology, including anatomy and physiology, while assessing and treating a range of health conditions.
Endoscopy undertakes procedures such as gastroscopy, flexible sigmoidoscopy, colonoscopy, bronchoscopy and Urology. Your day will be varied, spending time with Gastroenterologists, Surgeons, Nurse Endoscopists and Bowel Screening Wales practitioners. Training courses are available from basic to advanced skills, with a standard competency pathway and allocated mentor. Development needs are addressed through ongoing training.
The post offers the opportunity to further develop skills such as management, bowel screening, and specialist endoscopy skills, with a range of future nursing prospects.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply. The Health Board supports bilingualism to enhance patient and service user experiences.
