The successful Key stage 2 Teaching Assistant will work closely with the class teacher to support pupils across the key stage, providing high-quality classroom support, 1:1 assistance, and small-group work. This role also includes some PPA cover when the class teacher is out of the classroom, making it ideal for a Teaching Assistant who is confident and proactive.
Key Stage 2 Teaching Assistant - Key Responsibilities:
* Support teaching and learning across the department as a Teaching Assistant
* Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils
* Assist with planning, preparation, and delivery of engaging activities
* Cover the class during PPA time when required as a level 3 Teaching Assistant
* Support children's personal, social, and emotional development
* Promote positive behaviour and a nurturing learning environment
* Help assess progress and contribute to observations and records
* Work closely with teachers, support staff, and parents
* Maintain a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom setting
* Follow safeguarding policies and procedures as a trusted Teaching Assistant
Teaching Assistant - Requirements:
* Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning (Essestial)
* Proven experience working as a Teaching Assistant
* Confidence supporting pupils across Key stage 2
* Experience covering classes during PPA time is highly desirable
* Strong understanding of the curriculum
* Patient, nurturing, and enthusiastic approach
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills
* Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
