The Opportunity We are urgently seeking an HCPC Registered Biomedical Scientist to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be a vital part of our laboratory operations, ensuring the highest standards of patient care and laboratory excellence. Key Responsibilities Perform analysis of blood, haematological, and biochemical samples. Validate, interpret, and authorise laboratory results. Monitor and maintain quality control procedures and documentation. Perform daily maintenance and troubleshooting on laboratory equipment (e.g., haematology analysers, biochemistry analysers, immunochemistry analysers, microscopes, PCR equipment). Prepare and process patient samples, ensuring proper sample integrity and quality standards. Manage stock levels and liaise with senior staff regarding supply requirements. Contribute to updating standard operating procedures and continuous improvement initiatives. Participate actively in staff training, supervision, and professional development. Handle urgent communications of critical results to clinical staff. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and laboratory best practices. Collaborate closely with the team to deliver fast, reliable, and quality diagnostic services. Requirements BSc/MSc in Biomedical Science ( Essential ). HCPC Registration as a Biomedical Scientist ( Essential ). Minimum of 3 years' post-graduate experience in a medical laboratory/pathology setting ( Essential ). Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with key laboratory equipment. Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to work independently.
