Turning Passion into Purpose. The highly successful BA Acting for Stage and Screen programme at LSBU wishes to recruit a Lecturer in Acting (fixed term of 2 years) to deliver exceptional learning and teaching to undergraduate students on this dynamic and high-performing degree.
Our emphasis at LSBU is on supporting the development of students as early career actors and artists networked into the industry from the start of their studies. You will bring a highly skilled and creative approach to actor training pedagogy to make an exceptional contribution to the work of the teaching team in this area. You will be responsible for teaching, marking, assessing, and supervising undergraduate classes in addition to carrying out additional rehearsal supervision and teaching-related administration. All academic staff at LSBU are expected to be research or industry active.
About You:
We are looking to hear from candidates who have the following skills/experience:
* Hold a good first degree in subject of Drama, Theatre or Acting together with a post-graduate qualification in a relevant subject specialism
* Demonstrable professional experience as an actor or director
* Demonstrate a proven track record in delivering strong outcomes for undergraduate students
* Successful teaching track record in the HE actor training sector
In addition, to your proven success in delivering high quality outcomes for students you will bring a wealth of industry contacts drawn from your own recent professional practice and experience.
We welcome applications from candidates whose research demonstrates societal impact, and where there is evidence of knowledge exchange, business or community engagement, and national and international collaboration. Experience of doctoral level supervision would also be an advantage.
