About the role
We are seeking a Research Assistant to join the School of Economics at the University of Leicester. This role will involve supporting a research team in acquiring, evaluating and interpreting data, as well as conducting analyses and tests using agreed techniques and innovative approaches. You will contribute to the development of research methods, summarise findings, and assist in producing outputs such as co-authored journal articles and technical papers.
You will also play an active role in workshops and conferences to disseminate research findings and support knowledge exchange. Working closely with colleagues and collaborators, you will help ensure the success of the research programme while managing your own workload effectively under the guidance of the Principal Investigator.
About you
You will hold an Honours degree or have equivalent relevant experience, with practical knowledge of applying research skills and techniques to deliver high-quality outputs. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential, including experience with Pen World Table data, coding, and dynamic general equilibrium models. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to prioritise tasks within agreed schedules are key to success in this role.
We are looking for a team player who demonstrates enthusiasm for the subject area and a commitment to continuous professional development. A Master’s qualification or current PhD study would be advantageous.
