A full time Veterinary Surgeon role has arisen at a small animal practice based on the historical island of Anglesey in Wales. A place of unparalleled beauty and amazing adventures, Anglesey is full of character. Our client is seeking to add a 3rd Veterinary Surgeon to their team. They are looking for someone who is RCVS accredited and feels comfortable with routine consults, neutering and dental surgery. The practice sees lots of dogs, cats and exotics and has a very loyal client base.
The practice itself is extremely well-equipped with a modern IDEXX in-house laboratory (catalyst and procyte), digital AGFA CR X-ray, video endoscope and bronchoscope, colour Doppler ultrasound with ECG, tonopen and slit lamp all of which would allow candidates to work up cases fully in-house. The practice sees a varied caseload which ranges from the standard (vaccinations, microchipping, neutering, dentals etc) to more specialist services such as chemotherapy, echocardiograms, ECG, video endoscope and bronchoscope for non-invasive procedures.
The successful candidate needs to have excellent communication skills, should be able to write clear and concise clinical notes, be computer literate, committed to collegiality and should have good time management skills. You need to be proactive in your learning and be keen to develop your knowledge and practical and intellectual skills. Given the practice's close proximity to the beach and in short driving distance to the Snowdonia Mountain range, this position might be particularly interesting to candidates with an interest in water sports, rock climbing, hiking, riding, etc.
