Overview
My client (nursery) in Horsham is seeking an Early Years Assistant to work part time. The role is 20 hours per week, from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm, five days per week. We have positions in each room. Applications should be made by those with relevant experience in Early Years; qualification is desirable but not essential.
Responsibilities
* Support the Room Leader and Educators in providing high-quality care and education for young children.
* Assist with daily routines, engage in activities, and help maintain a safe and nurturing environment for all children.
* Help maintain compliance with nursery policies, Health and Safety regulations, and the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, following guidelines set by the Department for Children, Schools, and Families and OFSTED.
* Communicate and work well as part of a team and be a positive role model to children.
Requirements / Qualifications
* Experience in Early Years is preferred; qualification is desirable but not essential.
* Demonstrate a keen interest in learning and development; high standards of health and safety; promote the well-being of all children.
* Support the nursery’s vision and create an inclusive environment that promotes equal opportunities for all children.
* Promote positive relationships with children and their families.
* Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to a positive team environment.
* A sense of humour, common sense, and a “can do” attitude; energy, drive, and resilience to challenges.
* Passion for forest school and outdoor learning.
About the setting
We are an independent nursery with three light and welcoming playrooms, a large garden, and access to surrounding fields. Resources are natural, open-ended, and reclaimed to encourage exploration and hypotheses as part of learning.

Details
Location: Horsham (rural setting); transport by own means advised.
Pay: £11.50 per hour.
Schedule: Monday to Friday; Part-time, permanent.
Licences/Certifications: Driving Licence preferred.
Work Location: In person.
