Role - Senior Quantity Surveyor
Location - Sheffield
Purpose of the role
Join Galliford Try as a Senior Quantity Surveyor supporting the delivery of the Transforming Cities Fund project in Sheffield. This major infrastructure scheme will deliver highways and public realm improvements across key travel corridors, enhancing walking, cycling, and public transport throughout the city.
As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will lead the commercial management, ensuring works are delivered safely, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will manage contractual processes, commercial risks and opportunities, while providing accurate reporting to the Commercial Manager and senior leadership team.
* Support, develop, and manage members of the commercial team, helping individuals grow and succeed in their roles.
* Produce monthly commercial reports, including cost value reconciliations (CVR), and maintain accurate cost plans.
* Manage main contract administration, including payments, change management, and reporting activities.
* Oversee subcontract packages, including procurement, payments, change management, and performance monitoring.
* Ensure all works are carried out in line with contractual requirements and business procedures.
* Collaborate with operational and engineering teams during the Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) stage to support programme development, buildability, and cost planning.
About you
* Good working knowledge of NEC forms of contract.
* Experience working on highways, infrastructure, or public realm projects.
* Strong cost control and forecasting skills, with the ability to monitor performance and provide clear commercial insight.
* Professionally qualified, or working towards membership, with a recognised industry body such as CICES or RICS.
* Valid CSCS card.
