Leader Education is recruiting a compassionate Mental Health Support Worker to join a specialist SEND school in Ashington, Northumberland. This role involves supporting the emotional wellbeing and mental health of children and young people, helping them to access learning and thrive in a safe and supportive environment.
The hours are Monday-Friday 8:30-3:30
Key Responsibilities:
* Supporting pupils’ mental health, emotional wellbeing, and social development
* Assisting with individual behaviour plans and therapeutic interventions
* Providing one-to-one or small group support as required
* Working collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and external professionals
* Promoting a positive, inclusive, and structured learning environment
The Ideal Candidate Will:
* Have experience supporting children or young people, ideally in a SEND or mental health setting
* Be patient, empathetic, and adaptable
* Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Hold an enhanced DBS or be willing to obtain one
* Be committed to supporting pupils’ wellbeing and personal development
