Key Responsibilities:
Planning & Delivering Lessons: Create and deliver engaging English lessons for Key Stage 3 & 4 students, tailored to the curriculum and ensuring each lesson is engaging, diverse, and creative.
Assessment & Feedback: Plan assessments, provide constructive feedback, and track student progress regularly. You'll ensure that each student's individual needs are met while maintaining high standards of achievement.
Student Support: Provide pastoral care and create an inclusive classroom where all students feel supported and encouraged to achieve their best. Participate in student welfare initiatives.
Collaborating with Colleagues: Work closely with other departments and staff members to enhance the teaching and learning experience. Be an active part of staff meetings and professional development opportunities.
Classroom Management: Maintain a positive and effective classroom environment that encourages learning. You'll be able to use your creative classroom management strategies to keep students engaged.
Extra-Curricular Contributions: While not mandatory, we would love for you to be involved in some extra-curricular activities, whether it's a book club, drama productions, or helping with school events.
What We're Looking For:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
Experience teaching English in a secondary school setting is required.
Passion for literature, language, and creative teaching methods.
Adaptability & Team Spirit: You'll be joining us on a long-term supply basis, so flexibility and the ability to adapt to our school's environment are key.
Excellent Communication Skills: You'll need to be able to engage and inspire students, as well as collaborate effectively with staff, parents, and the wider school community.
