About construction and projects at Hempsons Our construction and projects clients are NHS organisations, GP practices, businesses and charities all of whom are employers and end users of the construction industry. We assist our clients to engage successfully with contractors, consultants, developers, funders and partner organisations and projects such as new hospital facilities, community healthcare facilities, primary care premises, key worker accommodation, multi-storey car parks and office fit-outs. The Role We are looking for a construction lawyer with experience in some or all of the following: Building contracts • Professional appointments • Novations and collateral warranties • Bonds and guarantees • Development agreements and agreements for lease • Project agreements • Energy management agreements • M anaged services and facilities maintenance agreements • J oint ventures and collaborations You will be encouraged to become involved in business development and client relationship management and you will be supported to develop your career and play to your strengths. You can be based at any of our offices –Manchester, Newcastle, London, Harrogate or Southampton. The Team Our construction and projects lawyers sit within our corporate-commercial and real estate teams, depending on their wider work portfolios. We have experts in real estate, non-contentious and contentious construction, property litigation, public procurement law and commercial contracts. We work collaboratively across all five offices and we appreciate the quality and variety of the projects we work on. Skills and Competencies • Essential: a solid grounding in relevant areas of law gained at a Legal 500 firm or in-house. • Advantageous: experience of working with health and social care sectors and/or charities. • Given: strong teamwork, organisational skills and regulatory compliance.
