Hours of work:
7. Hours to be worked over three/four days a week: 9:00am to 5:00pm
Exact days can be agreed on commencement of the post
In addition, a requirement of the post will be that the successful candidate may be required to work outside normal working hours including early mornings, evenings and weekends / public holidays.
The main duties of this post will include:
8. The development and delivery of education programmes provided by CAFRE, to ensure the sustainability of the equine industry through the implementation of DAERA policy
9. The development and delivery of Knowledge Transfer and Innovation programmes linked to research findings, to ensure the competitiveness of the equine industry
10. The development and delivery of industry training courses and events
11. Develop, co-ordinate and deliver modules and units of teaching to meet CAFRE quality and awarding body standards
12. Monitor and evaluate students’ progress through a range of activities i.e. tutorials, assessments and class activities and support academic progress reporting to programme managers as required
13. Mentor and manage students to ensure their full learning potential is realised and integrate the relevant academic support to students ensuring that all Special Educational Needs and Disability (Northern Ireland) Order (SENDO) adjustments are fully implemented
14. Support the wider teaching team by providing teaching to learners in specialist technical areas
15. Complying with all CAFRE Health and Safety policies and procedures and contributing effectively to the management of Health and Safety from a CAFRE business perspective both on and off site

Essential Experience &Qualifications required:
To apply for this role you must have, by the closing date for applications:
16. At least an Honours degree (2.2 classification), or an equivalent qualification, in Equine Studies, or Equine Management or Equine Science, or Equine Business, or Veterinary Science, or Veterinary Physiotherapy or a closely related subject*.
AND
17. A minimum of one-year, full-time equivalent, relevant post-qualification experience working in the equine industry**.
AND
18. A full, current driving licence enabling the licence holder to drive in Northern Ireland and access to a form of transport which will permit them to meet the requirements of the post in full.
* A closely related subject is defined as one where at least 50% of the technical modules are similar in content to those in the Degrees referred to above.
Desired Experience and Qualifications:
19. Experience of working within the horse racing industry for at least one year would be desirable
