Negotiable – Monday to Thursday 8.40-15.40 (25 hours) OR Monday to Friday 8.40-15.40 (32.5 hours).
Contract Type:
Permanent, term time only.
Salary:
Grade 4 - £33,366 - £40,476 FTE (25 hours = £19,981.74 - £24,239.66 or 32.5 hours = £25,976.26 - £31,511.57) and SEN allowance £1,668.70 pro rata.
Start Date:
Monday 1st September 2025.

About Mayfield School:
Mayfield School is a special school for 310 pupils aged between 2 and 19 with a wide range of special educational needs and disabilities including autism. It is a Unicef Rights Respecting School on a journey to achieve gold status.
School Sites:
The school is split across two sites - Wheeler Street in Lozells and Heathfield Road in Handsworth. Successful applicants may work at either site depending on the needs.
Role Overview:
We are seeking experienced and qualified higher level teaching assistants to lead interventions supporting pupils' personal development, behaviour, and inclusion. This role is initially based at Wheeler Street, focusing on pupil interventions. It offers a rewarding opportunity to make a difference in young people's lives.
Candidate Requirements:
* Experience working directly with children or young people in a special school setting.
* Ability to take on additional responsibilities, lead sessions, and work collaboratively.
* Skills in communication, record keeping, and evidencing impact.
* Experience with social and communication interventions, Makaton, communicate in print, and widget symbols is advantageous.
