To manage the delivery of the EJS ACT-PD Trial at site, facilitate recruitment from under-served communities and support the trial’s delivery across less experienced sites within the Research Delivery Network region.
EJS ACT-PD is a multi-arm, multi-stage platform trial assessing potential disease-modifying therapies for Parkinson’s disease.
Please note that this role is a secondment opportunity. Before applying you must seek agreement and authorisation from your current line manager. Main duties of the job
The trial will be delivered on a national scale, across approximately 40 UK sites with a 4 year recruitment period and 3 year treatment duration.
EJS ACT-PD will be co-led by University College London and Newcastle University, and coordinated by the Medical Research Council Clinical Trials Unit (MRC CTU).
Approximately 15 core-funded staff members in similar role will be place at delivery sites across the UK to form a network of dedicated delivery staff.
The post-holder will have responsibility for the recruitment of eligible participants to EJS ACT-PD, including actioning localised EDI strategies where relevant to encourage diverse participation from under-served groups.
The post-holder will also be responsible for the associated data collection for participant study visits at their site, including administration of PD rater-scales (e.g., MDS-UPDRS).
It is expected that the post-holder will provide trial delivery support for less experienced sites within their region where required to improve regional PD research infrastructure.

Responsible to ensure full and accurate records of relevant information are documented in the patients' medical notes. All documentation and data are completed in a timely and accurate manner and that all information is stored and maintained appropriately.
Act as patient/participant advocate ensuring their rights are always protected.
Promote a safe clinical environment for all patients/participants, visitors and staff.
Respond and take appropriate action relating to hazard notification regarding products and equipment.
Inform manager of any untoward incident or accident and ensure that
appropriate investigation, corrective action, and documentation takes place. Completing the appropriate documentation within the required timeframes in accordance with the local, Sponsor and national policies
Ensures that stock levels and equipment are maintained
adequately. Prescribing trial medication as per research protocol.

Experience/Qualifications
Essential criteria
1. Working as a Band 7 nurse and above
2. Masters degree or equivalent experience, with significant experience in neurology specifically parkinson’s.
3. Currently working as a highly specialised Parkinson’s nurse
4. Good Clinical Practice (GCP) training course, certificate
5. Must hold an NMP Qualification
6. Currently working with people with Parkinson’s in a clinical capacity

7. Non medical prescriber
