Equans UK is looking to recruit for a Sales Director to drive growth within the O&M side of our Digital & Energy Services business and strengthen our position as a leader in the Smart City market.
Role Overview
A Sales Director will ensure that customer projects are effectively managed, identify new opportunities, and lead the sale, implementation, and management of new projects and initiatives. The role is responsible for managing the needs of the customer while identifying and delivering opportunities for cross‑sell and up‑sell within selected clients. They will track the commercials of each customer, understanding how to increase the viability of customer relationships, and will oversee, develop, and deliver Account Development plans in accordance with the business strategy.
Key Activities
* Lead the Sales & Marketing team, winning new customers and growing key account relationships
* Manage the Account Management function
* Ensure an active business development plan is in place for relevant markets and customers
* Ensure Account Development plans are in place for key customers
* Achieve individual revenue and margin targets
* Report performance through weekly and monthly reporting
* Apply learning to drive best practice in the team
* Ensure contracts and measures are agreed, understood across the O&M business and delivered in line with KPIs and SLAs
* Work with Operations to ensure customers’ operational requirements are understood, achievable and built into any agreement in an appropriate and deliverable manner
* Build effective relationships within each customer and ensure account links are active across the organisation
* Act as the expert for customers, keeping them informed of relevant industry updates and providing new solutions and ideas to support their needs
* Engage new customers and measure satisfaction through feedback and NPS surveys
Skills, Qualifications & Experience
* Degree or equivalent in business or a related discipline (preferred)
* Experience working in a customer‑service focused technology industry
* Experience managing resources and teams in a technology‑led environment
* Account and sales team leadership
* Strong customer focus and management
* Business and commercial focus – including contract negotiation and management
* Strong communication, influence, and negotiation skills
* Strong project management skills
* Strong stakeholder management
* Resource and commercial management
